Mood Board Link-Up at Design Your Dwelling!

Today I am linking up at the Mood Board Link Party at Design Your Dwelling. I decided to link up a mood board that was done as an inspiration board for my office.

Sadly, my office looks nothing like this because I share it with my darling husband who is also based out of our home office. There is some Yankee memorabilia and golf prints in there not shown in this mood board:)

One day, when I have my own office...it will look a little more like this! Check out the other designers, their mood boards and link one up yourself over at Design Your Dwelling! Also, be sure to visit Design Your Dwelling for more great design

Dorm Room OlioHop with Olioboard!

It's time for another amazing Olioboard OlioHop! For those of you first-timers, the last two months I have been lucky enough to participate in an OlioHop with OlioBoard and other contributing bloggers/designers. In the hop, we create an Olioboard based on the theme of that month and then we encourage readers to create their own boards and post the links to our blogs. If you aren't familiar with Olioboard- it is definitely worth checking out- it is a FREE, fantastic tool that I use to create mood boards for all of my clients. You can check out my previous OlioHops on organization here and MomSpots here.

This month's OlioHop is appropriately themed Dorm Rooms! When I was in college (150 years ago) I was so excited to pick out my sheets and bedding and to spruce up that bland space! I tried to keep my Olio-space as dorm room real as possible. No colors on the walls. Boring....almost...I did break the dorm room rules with some pricey splurges. I would never spend this kind of money on furniture for a dorm room but this is an inspiration board....I am allowed to dream, right? Here are some of the key elements in my (dream) dorm room!

Check out my Dorm Room Olioboard in detail here!

Starting with the centerpiece...the bed....I still work on my laptop in bed even hundreds of years out of college....

Rivulets Bedding from Anthropologie

Spicing up the walls a bit....

Silk Screen Stencil Chandelier

Layla Grace Green Satin Gown Art

Some motivational canvases from Layla Grace

I found a ton of great stuff at Zinc Door....love their stuff and probably wouldn't have spent the money on my real dorm room! Here is what I was loving!

Zinc Door Waveland Chair
Zinc Door Scales Pillow
Now for the fun part...hop over to the other contributing bloggers and look and what they have come up with! Link up your own Olioboard that you have created or comment and let us know what you think! Here are the links to check out...Get your Hop on!

OlioHop: Mom Spot! Link up with us!

I love my kids through and through. My kids are vivacious, funny, full of energy and talkative....VERY TALKATIVE. I can't say I am surprised...I can be quite chatty as can my husband so apple...tree...you get the idea. Anyway, while I love to hang on their every word and philosophy about swimming, SpongeBob and Super Mario, at the end of a busy week...sometimes I revel in the delight of sneaking off to my very own nook once the kiddies have been put to bed. Right now my very personal nook is sitting propped up in my bed with the fan on and the door closed...but if I had the chance to create my very own Mom-spot, here is what it would look like:

To view the board closer or to source items from the board, visit me at Olioboard!

What is most important to me in my nook is:
  • a quiet and comfortable place to read iPad, the obnoxious pile of magazines I have and of course, books!
  • a nice clean surface to work on the laptop or sort through fabric and rug samples
  • plenty of closed storage in the dressers
  • some inspirational artwork- (I have a bit of an obsession with chairs....hence my logo)
  • some natural light and some necessary mood lighting with several lamps
  • some pretty orchids...just because!
Hop on over to Olioboard to create your very own Mom-Spot and come back and share the link. I'd love to see what each of you interpret as a place of your own. If you are looking for some inspiration, check out the Mom-spots created by these lovely and talented bloggers.

Join the Olioboard BlogHop!

It's Olioboard's BlogHop time! This hop is all about organization! For Homestyling101's contribution, I put together a mood board of the Homestyling101 office including features I would need for the office to function smoothly and stylishly! Scroll down for more info on how to join the hop! But first, take a peek:

To view the board closer or to source items from the board, visit me at Olioboard!

In this dream office, I included some major organizational components. First of all, the large cabinet offers closed storage for all my unsightly product catalogs and binders. Those file cabinets from CB2 offer pops of color and lots of storage for client files and other important paperwork. The wall files and baskets can help me keep the most important files at the tips of my fingers. The extra baskets are for larger fabric and carpet samples. There is also a small conference table for client appointments, a comfy chair and ottoman and a big black desk for me to get to work at! And of course, my office would not be complete without my trusty sidekick, Fergie, who assists me on all of my projects! (This is not actually Fergie but a mini-version of her...and yes, we usually fight for the chair!)

Now, to join the OlioHop, go over to Olioboard and create your very own organizational mood board (if you haven't joined, it's totally FREE!) Then come back and post the link to your board in the comments section of my blog. You should also visit the other talented bloggers to see what organizational boards they have created. For those of you who love finding new blogs, this is a collection of talented women and super blogs: I'm sure you'll be inspired to start organizing!

Today is a quick post to share the mood board I created for the Olioboard Wayfair's Contest. Check out what I put together and if you feel so inclined, hop over to Olioboard and vote for my board!

Man Cave Mania

This is how I was feeling last week....

I had my hand in about 20 different projects and completed nothing! I couldn't even get my blog posts together! Anyway, it is a new week...so I would like to share one thing I did complete last week and it was my entry into the Man Cave Contest on Olioboard. For those of you not familiar with Olioboard, it is an amazing (and free) site that I use to put together mood boards for my clients. You can print them, email them, and it corrals all the resources to the items you select. You need not be a designer to take part...try it out if you are trying to pull a room together..it is addicting! Anyway, here is the Man Cave I created...I tried to keep it sophisticated yet cool and meeting the needs of every man...(4 tvs....you get the idea!)

I would really love it if you could vote for me! The winning board ends up on the Today Show and you can vote daily!! Thanks and let me know if you give Olioboard a try!
