New shopping site...Birdaria

I love my business because a large part of what I do is SHOP for a living! I mean- shop and buy (usually not with my own money...or for my own home :(bummer)
One of the joys of this task is when I am introduced to new places to shop. My newest find "Birdaria".

The bread and butter of Birdaria is their gorgeous original, gallery-wrapped and framed canvases. All ready-to-hang, made in the USA, starting at $75.....and so unique, too!

This might be going in a master bedroom project I'm working on....

Designers I'm Digging...

I spend a lot of time on the website which is the designer version of (although I think was around before but you can start ideabooks and add photos selected from the portfolios of some amazing designers. I have come to admire so many design firms and portfolios, I've decided to start a weekly series on the blog admiring these "drool-worthy" designers. This week, I have chosen my first designer to dole out the accolades for: Alexander James Interiors. This design firm is based in the United Kingdom.  Here are some deets on their background:

"Alexander James Interiors - a highly acclaimed design practice offering a seamless delivery of bespoke design solutions, renowned for our eye for detail and ability to cater for any style without compromising on quality and service. Established in 1995, the company specialised in providing tailor-made luxury show homes and residential interiors, offering a highly personalised service whilst creating beautiful interiors for private individuals."

Here is their Cleeves can see why I'm drooling...

What do you think of the new series? Inspired? Definitely go over to and start your own account so you can save these beauties in your own Ideabooks.

Busy as a bee....

It's been a while since my last post because I just became inundated with client work! That is not a bad thing although it makes me miss checking in with you all over here. Here is a bit of what I've been up to....

Turning a playroom into library with wall to wall, wrap-around bookcases to be painted in high-gloss jewel-toned cranberry paint. client and I refer to it as the "jewel box". It is early in the planning stages but it is going to be sooo beautiful! Here is an inspiration shot....

I've also been working on a monochromatic soothing bedroom. I'm thinking a grasscloth wall and some linen roman shades....a settee at the end of the are some inspiration shots....

I am also working on a living room/sitting room off an open plan kitchen. It is a room just for the adults...I am thinking something like this....but with a little more color....

I also was interviewed by Homestyle, (love the name of their site!), about selecting a backsplash which led me to think about the decision process that I walk clients through while selecting their own backsplashes in their kitchen reno. Realize there is lots to talk about so I'll do a post on that soon:)

I also had a photo shoot yesterday at CST Creations Kitchens & Baths for an article set to appear in the Living Here section of The Journal News which I am super excited about! I probably took the shoot way too seriously, smizing and booty-tooching, etc.....(Tyra fans know what I'm talking about:) Anyway, the story is going to run April 6th so look for me there!

Ok, that is a brief run down of my crazy- I hope to be back on a regular blogging schedule for you all! Thanks for reading!

Great opportunity and Great Deals!

Yesterday I had the honor of being a guest on the WFAS radio show "How's The Market", hosted by real estate guru Jason Wilson. The topic was Home Staging and Interior Design (naturally) and it was such a blast to share my thoughts on staging and design with Jason's listeners. We talked about the blog a bit, too so hopefully we picked up a few new readers which is always great!

For those of you who were actually up at 8 am on a Sunday and tuned in- thanks for listening! For those of you who missed it- I will share the link later in the week once it is up and running! Hopefully I didn't ramble too much! When it comes to a topic that I am passionate about such as design (or any show on Bravo) I can go on, and on, and on, and on....ok- I'm a talker.

AM 1230 WFAS
But thanks to Jason's lead I think I kept it under control......who knows...maybe there will be a spin-off show...."How's the Interior" happens for all the Bravo Housewives....anyway- thanks again to Jason and everyone at WFAS for the great opportunity! And if you are in the Real Estate industry- "How's the Market" is definitely chock-full of great real estate info and worth tuning in to! You can listen from anywhere through the IHeart Radio app, too!
