Bringing the Outdoor Chair Inside

Right now I am loving the look of wicker (or outdoor) chairs used in interiors. I am currently shopping for light-weight, high-backed chairs just like this for a client. I think that these chairs, when used in a living room or den, offer an interesting bit of texture, extra seating and don't take up too much visual space.

In the client space I am looking to use them in, you would enter the room facing the backs of these wicker chairs. I like the idea that the lightness of this style of chair makes this layout possible. Here are some examples of wicker or outdoor chairs done well in the interior:

For some good inexpensive options of outdoor furniture that you can move indoors, check out the Kona Chair, the Melbourne Chair or the Valencia bench all from Cost Plus World Market.

  1. I love wicker chairs and use them frequently for staging. You are so right about them taking up less visual space. I also love that you can change out the cushions easily. Plus, they are so lightweight they can be moved anywhere in the room. I would love to see your AFTER pictures!

  2. Just read your birthday post. How do you like your new Canon Camera? I'm a non-techy that needs to take great pictures! My point and shoot doesn't cut it!

  4. I myself like light-weight chairs of outdoor uses. Often metal chairs are very good for that. However, metal chairs are not that much lovely like wood chairs but they are useful & long lasting.
